Overview

The engineering deposit is 5% of the estimated package price, which is applied in full toward the material package price (small additions skip this step). At this stage, Habitat Post & Beam will continue any preliminary plan revisions and provide you with a conceptual 3-D tour of your design on video or CD. Upon approval of preliminay plans (signed and approved by you for no further changes), we will proceed with foundation and cross section plans typically needed for building permits, and a final package price is determined.

Details

1. Plan revisions and modifications
Preliminary plan revisions/modifications requested by the purchaser and acceptable to Habitat Post & Beam design/engineering will be made at no additional cost. Material package delivery is normally 6-8 weeks from the date of final plans (no additional changes) with a signed contract. Early scheduling will prepare for an orderly transition to production, and is the best guarantee for a timely delivery.

2. 3-D virtual model of your home
We will provide you with a basic 3-D tour of your design on videotape or on CD as requested. A much more detailed version including your color choices, furniture and landscaping among other options, is available for an additional charge.

3. Foundation and cross sections for the model selected or custom design
When the plans are signed by you and approved for no additional changes, we will then create foundation plans and cross sections (these plans are typically needed for obtaining necessary building permits). A set of these plans with a professional engineer's stamp will be provided if required in your building area. Once the foundation and cross-sections have been started, changes are strongly discouraged.

4. Guaranteed price
Habitat Post & Beam will provide you with the final price for your package. The buyer is then guaranteed against any price increases, assuming a contract is executed within 30 days of this deposit and package delivery or payment in full occurs within 90 days of signed contract. 120-day price protection is assured.
